Making Money – Basics For Profiting From Affiliate Marketing

As the growth of the internet goes, so does the potential for many businesses to start making money seriously and increase their revenues. The past few years have given rise to many internet based businesses that are thriving due to affiliate marketing programs.

For those of you not familiar with affiliate marketing, these programs provide you with the ability to drive visitors to your website from affiliated websites or to allow you to make money through the sales of other merchant’s products. The key to making money at this is to choose an affiliate program that best suits the needs of your business’ website.

Affiliate marketing is a business for making money and as such it requires effort for it to be successful. There are no shortcuts and you will get out of it what you put into it. The earning potential of your business is affected by many different factors and the key component is your effort.

The reason that many people choose to be involved in affiliate marketing is due to the low financial investment required to get started making money. Affiliate marketing is a multi-billion dollar industry and by following some simple steps then you can be taking your share of those advertising dollars.

There are a number of different methods to capitalize on this type of marketing and one is to advertise your products using a service such as Google AdWords to make money. This type of advertising is adjustable to fit your budget and allows you to direct traffic to your website or that of affiliated merchants with very little investment. A small investment can turn into a huge potential when it comes to making money.

In addition to this type of marketing you can also use email as a means of getting in touch with your customers and making money. By building an email list you are providing yourself with the opportunity to advertise your products and the products of associated merchants all within the same marketing piece. By giving visitors to your site the opportunity to register their information you will have the opportunity to build a substantial client base that you can use for the distribution of marketing emails.

Above all there is one thing you should always keep in mind. Remember to keep all your goals in perspective and not assume that this is going to be a cash windfall that will give you overnight riches. There is much trial and error to this method of making money and if one avenue fails then try a new one the next day. By getting a sense of what works and what does not then you will have the knowledge needed to grow and succeed at affiliate marketing. Be patient, dedicated, and most of all, realistic. There are good days and bad days, just the same as in any business, and if you weather the storms then you will have the opportunity to make money and enjoy the sunny days.

4 Steps To Become Successful With Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is one of best ways to start with to begin making money online. When promoting an Affiliate Offer, you simply recommend a product that provides value to others. This doesn’t require a lot of effort to set everything up. You can do it by directly promoting the Affiliate offer or send the traffic to your Squeeze Page first to build up your list. You can setup the whole funnel in less than an hour to get ready to start sending visitors to your offer.

I’ve seen many Affiliate Marketers (especially newbies) fail because promoting Affiliate Marketing products require some steps to be taken. If you skip one or more steps, the odds of people buying your recommended Affiliate Products becomes lower.

This is why in this article I will highlight the 4 main steps needed to make you a successful Affiliate Marketer. Each of these steps is essential and all successful Affiliate Marketers take each of those steps into account.

Choose Your Niche

This is the first and most important step to take into account. I can easily say that if this step isn’t done correctly, everything else almost won’t matter. You need to choose a niche that is proven to be profitable and with high demand. This will definitely increase the odds of other people buying your products or Affiliate Products that you recommend.

Not all niches are the same in term of demand and profitability. This is a very common mistake most marketers do. They think that they can just go ahead with any niche and start promoting right away.

Most proven profitable niches are Health, Wealth and Relationship. However, there are many other niches that are profitable and with high demand. There are five main factors to consider when choosing your niche:

Passion: It is far better to choose a niche that you’re passionate about. This is help you on continuing to take actions after each failure. Loving what you do is a great weapon to have to make your business successful. However this by itself isn’t enough because you need to choose a niche that’s profitable as well.

Evergreen: When you choose a niche ask yourself “Is it evergreen?” If you don’t know what an evergreen is, it means niche that is always demanded and never gets old. Wealth, health and relationship are great examples of evergreen niches. That’s because at all time people look for ways to make money, become healthy and find relationship or maintain it. Whatever niche you choose, it’s far better that it’s evergreen to keep profiting from your products not only for a certain amount of time.

High Demand: This is the most important factor to consider for product creation. The niche should be on demand by others in order to make sales. No matter how great your product is, if not highly demand, it will barely make few sales but not a sustainable business that you may maintain and scale up.

Specific: Choosing a broad niche isn’t going to bring you targeted traffic. This is because you didn’t make it clear which segment your chosen niche is. For example if you make a product and only indicated that it’s about wealth, this is a wide topic to talk about. Because wealth could be Internet Marketing, Forex, Real Estate, Physical Business and the list goes on. By only indicating that it’s about wealth, you’ll get traffic from all these segments and most won’t need what you provide. However, if you specified it’s about Affiliate Marketing, then more targeted people will see your offer and you’ll more likely make sales and get sustainable income online.

Digital Product: When choosing a niche ask yourself “Can I make a Digital Product out of it?”. Some niche or products are highly demanded but can’t make Digital Products out of it. For example T-Shirts are highly demanded, people buy T-shirts every day. However, if you make a Digital Product about it will it be as much demanded? Who wants to watch or read about T-Shirts? People like to wear them. But Affiliate Marketing is a product that can be is high demanded if done as Digital Product.

Build Your Platform

This step is a great way of marketing yourself and becoming an authority. Using this step, other people see your work and know that you know what you’re talking about, not just someone who’s only willing to promote products to make sales.

There are four great platforms to use:

WordPress: Every successful Internet Marketer nowadays have a domain with WordPress installed on it. WordPress is an easy to use website creation tool and mostly the easiest way of creating websites nowadays. It just requires some steps to make your website ready to be live. You can create many type of webpages using WordPress, one of the most common one is a blog. Internet Marketers create a blog to create content that provide value to others and may also promote products.

Facebook: Who doesn’t know Facebook? This website is ranked second with and has more than one billion active users. You can take advantage of this huge platform by creating a page creating content that gets you tons of visitors who may turn to your ongoing customers. Your content will be ranked high because of the power of Facebook online. People like searching for Facebook Pages related to their needs and this creates a huge opportunity that you may take advantage of.

YouTube: YouTube is the most popular video website on the planet, with visitors watching around 6 billion hours of videos monthly. The great things about videos is that they create more engagement than text or audio. People enjoy watching videos and they learn more on video tutorials than reading reports or blog posts. This is a huge opportunity for you to keep creating valuable videos on regular basis. This helps you to rank your videos higher and thus get more visitors to watch your videos.

Tumblr: This is another Social Media platform that you can use to create blog posts. Tumblr is a popular platform to use and may be even your main platform of creating your content and branding yourself.

Grow Your Audience

This step is for getting traffic to your website to build your business. As you know, traffic is the bloodline of any business online and without it there is no business.

There are many sources of traffic but I’ll outline five powerful traffic sources:

Social Media: This is a great way to get traffic online. Almost everyone uses at least one Social Media platform which is a great opportunity to work on. But this of course requires some work by creating content on regular basis on matters that other people need to know about.

Solo Ads: Solo Ads clicks traffic comes from people who open the email that is sent by the Solo Ads Provider. This means that the Solo Ads provider sends an Email to part of his list (depending on the number of clicks) with a link of the website you provide to him.

PPC: Stands for Pay Per Click is an internet advertising model which directs traffic to a specific website. You create an advertisement (text and/or image) that when visitors click it redirects them directly to your website. If used correctly, you get highly targeted traffic for your business which increases your sales and income consistency.

Blog: As we said above, blogs are very powerful in term of branding yourself and becoming an authority. You get free highly targeted traffic and you get them to trust you and buy products from you because they’ve seen that you can provide them value with each product you provide.

YouTube: Video Marketing is a very powerful weapon to use nowadays and so you may take advantage of it. You can create some informative tips, product reviews, ongoing tutorials and much more using the power of YouTube. You get free highly targeted traffic and people will enjoy watching your videos and learn from you.

Promote Products

This is the final step which makes the monetization. You make all previous steps not for fun but to make money online. This step provide you a great way of getting sales online either by selling your own product or promoting other people’s products.

There are five great websites that provide great products to promote:

ClickBank.com: This is one of the most popular affiliate website online. It has product of almost all niches online which helps you to choose the niche you want to make your business on and choose products that are proven to sell.

Clicksure.com: Similar to ClickBank.com and very powerful as well.

Warriorplus.com: This is another great affiliate website to consider, but only if you’re in money making niche. All products there money making techniques so if you’re in a different niche you can just skip this website.

JVZoo.com: Similar to warriorplus.com but with products of higher prices generally.

Mucheye.com: This website is very useful because it shows products that didn’t launch yet. This allows you to be more prepared to promote the product you choose and will have less competition because most people promote launched products. It shows products of warriorplus, JVzoo and some other affiliate websites.

Now you know the four main steps you need to know to become a successful affiliate marketer online. This guide will help you to know how to choose your niche, build your platform, grow your audience and promote products.

Comparing Affiliate Networks For Home Based Internet Marketing Businesses

Affiliate marketing is when you are promoting someone else’s products and in return you get a percentage of the amount of the sale. This is one of the best way people with home based internet marketing businesses can start out.

There are various affiliate networks that help you hook up with the people who have products that you can sell. Some of these networks or services are better than others for what your particular list might want, so you may have to join more than one site to find the products you need to promote.

The biggest affiliate network sites are ClickBank, PayDotCom, Commission Junction and LinkShare. Each has their advantages and disadvantages.

ClickBank

ClickBank has a wide variety of digital products…meaning they are like ebooks, courses, etc. But they have them in a big range of topics. You can look for products in health and fitness, pets or crafts, for example. So let’s say your niche is quilting…you can start by searching for quilting products…maybe patterns or how to books for example.

But you don’t have to just stick with quilting…there is a crafts section with tons of interesting products and maybe you know that the quilters on your list do or might be interested in other sewing type crafts, so you offer products on embroidery, sewing, crocheting, knitting, etc.

How cool is that? This same concept works for other niches, too. Just make sure that you are sticking with products that will make sense to your list! It shouldn’t be too big of a stretch for them to understand why you would be recommending they buy a product.

ClickBank products have to be digital and they cap the sales price…but it is a great place to start because of the range they carry and good commission.

PayDotCom

PayDotCom.com is good for an Internet Marketing list, as most of the affililate opportunities at PayDotCom are about Internet Marketing, though the site is growing daily.

PayDotCom does carry both physical and digital products, and the price point of the product can be higher.

The downside is that there aren’t as many products available.

Commission Junction and LinkShare

Commission Junction and LinkShare both deal with physical products. They have relationships with more big businesses including clients like eBay, Best Buy and Pfaltzgraf.

You can sign up to become an affiliate for one or many of these companies. When you do that, you aren’t trying to build a Best Buy store…you just want to pick and choose products from that client (or many clients) that fits your list.

So say your list is built around gaming…then you could promote a specific hot new game or gaming system that is available at Best Buy. If you have a targeted list and you write your emails well, you can do really well this way. How well depends on how tightly that product relates to your list and the relationship that you have built with them.

There you have it, some affiliate networks, what makes each of them unique and great for home based internet marketing businesses. Go check out a couple, find a few products and start your affiliate marketing program-and start making money-right away.

Creating Your Affiliate Strategy To Produce Year-Round Results

People generate millions from affiliate marketing and you can too if you decide to create a real business strategy to produce year-round results.

Niche Down More

Don’t try to spread yourself too thin regarding the products you’ll promote. Choose a handful of products to promote, throw in some surprises throughout the year, and you’ll do a lot better with your marketing. Choose the best products for your audience that solve problems for them and that you’ll work hard on promoting all year long.

Create Unparalleled Content

When you write content, take the extra time to ensure that it’s right. Choose the right images. Choose the right problems and solutions to focus on for your audience and speak directly to your audience of one. Instead of writing about the product directly, you can also write about how to buy the best whatever it is that you’re selling.

Add Value to Your Ideal Customer’s Life

Just because you’re selling someone else’s product doesn’t mean that you can’t and should not develop your own brand. Your brand is how your audience feels about you. What feelings do you bring to your audience when they think of you? Find ways to add value to everything you promote to them so that they want to come to you first.

Choose Memberships to Promote

Promoting affiliate products that have recurring income is a good way to ensure income all year long too. Memberships, subscriptions and the like are wonderful ways to build your residual income. Some companies don’t pay on repeat orders, so check with the products you want to promote. If they aren’t offering it, ask for it. Once you’re a known super affiliate, they’ll come around.

Determine Your Multiple Traffic Sources

In advance of marketing, you need to know all your traffic sources so that you can push traffic to your products. You may want to use social media, paid ads, and more to promote the affiliate products and build traffic to your page in which everything should first be promoted. So, don’t just share a link to the product. Share a link to your review instead.

Pay Attention to Technology

It’s imperative to pay attention to technology because there are always “killer technologies” that can come in and change everything. Imagine if you had built your entire business based on one platform and boom, it’s gone. It happens. Do not take for granted that any program you use right now will always be here. Be prepared with something like it to move to as soon as you realize you need to. If you are paying attention, you’ll know.

8 Affiliate Marketing Mistakes You’ll Want To Avoid

Affiliate marketing is a good way to produce an extra income but only if you are prepared and go about it the right way. Here are some mistakes you’ll definitely want to avoid.

1. Choosing the Wrong Products

Any product you choose should offer a solution to a problem that your audience has. First choose who your audience is, then find solutions for them. Doing it the other way around can include the risk that there is not an audience for that product in the first place.

2. Joining Too Many Networks

You can’t make good income from affiliate products if you spread yourself too thin. Choose just a couple networks and work directly with some good products and their managers to ensure the best mix of products for your audience’s needs.

3. Not Investing in Helpful Resources

There are a lot of very helpful products, services and solutions today that can help make your life easier as an affiliate marketer. Set a budget and invest in your business. You can’t make money without spending, but you want to spend it wisely.

4. Not Using Technology to Its Fullest

Email lists, autoresponders, social media, blogs etc… all involve using technology. Seek to learn fully each new piece of tech that you add to your business before adding the next one.

5. Not Looking at Your Competitors

Many times your competitors are doing a lot of things right that you can learn from. If they are successful, you want to look at them. Buy some of their products and sign up for the lists. Make a note of what they’re doing right and wrong and make a plan to do even better.

6. Thinking You Don’t Need SEO

Search engine optimization is important, no matter what you’re doing. You can use it when you are completing a social media profile, a guest blogging bio, and more. It just means that you are considering the search engines (and your audience) in whatever you do, both on and off your website.

7. Not Finding Multiple Streams of Income

You don’t want too many products, but on the other hand you don’t want to deal with only one. You need to diversify your income stream by adding more than one product. The trick is ensuring that all products fit with your ideal audience.

8. Spending Too Much Time Creating Marketing Collateral

With most products, choose programs that create all the marketing material for you. The reason is that you should not be driving marketing strategy, the company should. If they can’t take the time to create marketing materials for you, it’s probably not the product you want to promote.

Affiliate Marketing 2018 – 3 Points To Consider

Affiliate marketing is the process of offering products for sale on the Internet, and having your own account remunerated for any sales made.

The beauty of the system is that you don’t have to put any money down for inventory – you’re able to sell someone else’s product for a cut of the sale.

Obviously, like all business opportunities, a number of unscrupulous individuals brought the market into disrepute with nefarious practices… but having said that, the majority of affiliate marketers are legitimate folks looking to share good products.

If you want to know it in 2018, this tutorial should give some insights…

Role Of Affiliate Marketing 2018

The Internet landscape has changed markedly since the inception of the model back in the late 90’s.

With the rise of Social Media, “influencers” have become the mainstay of most people’s Internet experience – leading a huge number of purchase decisions to be based off their recommendations.

Whilst this has brought its own problems, one of the most important things it’s done is expose the general Internet community to the process of buying products on recommendation.

This recommendation process is what lies at the core of affiliate marketing, and is basically how anyone who does it gets paid.

The point that needs to be made is that when you “make money” online, what you’re really doing is getting people to buy things online.

This purchase process lies at the core of all earned dollars – be it through the Internet or locally. The way through which it’s facilitated is what determines its profitability etc.

To this end, when the Internet started achieving commercial value in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, product/service owners realized that they could multiply their revenue by simply allowing others to sell their products.

The model was designed to encourage cross-promotions etc – and it worked.

By 2010, the market was teeming with products, services and companies who all offered a variety of affiliate referral programs.

There were even some “networks” who managed the process for everybody involved.

Although this works well, the main problem it had was that it lead to a number of problems – typically with people feeling they had been ripped-off by referrals/vendors.

Thus, by 2018, whilst it’s still effective to have the likes of Google affiliate sites, it’s more effective to carve out an “influencer” role in a market – and let that determine who enjoys what you’re offering.

1. Remove Necessity

As mentioned, there are a number of reasons why affiliate marketing wasn’t seen in too bright of a light – the main being that “thin affiliates” had jumped on the bandwagon, trying to take advantage of market demand for their own gain.

The best way to make progress with referrals in 2018 is to use your own face.

Creating content around a particular topic that you have expertise/experience with, and actually giving a damn about whether the content is effective, is what constitutes to a successful affiliate strategy in 2018.

If you create your own content, have the relevant social media channels (which you populate with actual content), you’ll want to look at then incorporating referrals into your strategy.

Any referrals you make are NOT “sponsored” content – they need to be presented as you would use them yourself – which typically means the creation of content specifically aimed at the core reason for the product.

For example, if you’re in the software/computer business, you’ll find that people will respond to either your recommendations or industry news. You’ll do very well by not only covering the relevant news, but then linking to “further resources” in the various descriptions you have.

The best affiliate marketing strategy for influencers is to direct readers to a website (rather than the products directly).

This gives you the ability to present various other offers, coupons and information about any referral links you may create – without the need of being overly careful to not break the rules of the various platforms through which you reach your audience.

2. Reviews Aren’t Dead; But They Need CONTEXT

It used to be the case that if you created a simple reviews website, bought some traffic, you’d get decent sales.

Those days are all but gone.

The big equalizer is social media — Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram have changed consumers’ expectations markedly.

They want to know WHO is making the recommendation and WHY.

This is where “reviews” have headed – they need “context” that can only come from a valid story.

If you want to write any reviews for products, you need to buy the product first – go to lengths to properly review its effectiveness, and then post the RESULTS of what you discovered.

Unless you’re on the first page of Google (which is now a LOT more difficult unless you have actual content on your website), getting referral traffic really needs to have a lot of quality put behind it.

3. Focus On Providing A Service

The best thing you can do is to focus on “getting paid” by doing something that people will be willing to pay you for.

I’ve tried many different things, but I’ll tell you now that it’s those who continually have “something to do” who are attractive.

The guys who are relying on affiliate marketing to make money are likely going to fail. Even if they do well, it’s typically short lived.

The best recommendation I give to people is they look for ways to “create money” of their own, and then use their downtime at evenings or weekends to create websites/videos on various products they thought were good.

By doing this, you not only give yourself actual income up front, but you also do the magical thing of being non-needy.

Needy businesses are weak businesses. Strong businesses take their time to get their products done properly.

If you consider your referrals as a “business”, think about the investment you might need to make it effective, and then consider how you could improve it. This is where the value of affiliate marketing in 2018 really lies.

Where Are My Affiliate Commissions?

People that are into network marketing and home-based businesses are in it because they want to make money, I am sure you do agree with me.

But there are many that are only having disappointments after disappointments, not ever satisfying the desires of their hearts, not making money from the affiliate programs in their systems.

This is surely not good for business. If you have been promised that after you signed up in a company, and you follow the instructions, that you would make money in about ninety days. When this does not happen, it gives you a bad feeling about the company and system they are using, it poses a lot of questions about that company or companies.

It is good to have programs built into a system, so that while you might be concentrating on building your network marketing business, you might at the same time make money through the affiliate programs.

The dream is that you make money. Anything less than this should influence you to choose another industry in which to do business.

Let us talk about affiliate programs within a system. What should you look for.

– For one you should look for a system that has proven to work for most people.

– You need to have confidence in its leaders.

– The affiliate programs should be what everyone would need if they join your program or system.

– The programs should be easy to implement.

– They should have a good record of paying their affiliates.

It is great when you are with a system that offers these affiliate programs, and that they work.

This is what can make you money while concentrating on your primary programs. You do not need all the hassles as a network marketer, having to worry about the affiliate programs you hooked up with in your marketing systems.

How To Make The Best Of Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a terrific way to start making money from the internet. You don’t need to develop your own products or services, keep any stock, deal with payment systems or organize deliveries. You promote products on behalf of another business and when you make a sale, you get paid a commission.

The problem is that a lot of people already know this. That means there’s a lot of affiliates out there who are most likely seeking to sell the same products as you.

Choose Your Niche Carefully

It’s important that you put some thought and homework into your niche before you start trying to sell affiliate products. To start with, do you have a real interest for your chosen niche or industry? If you’re trying to sell something that holds very little interest for you, you’re in a negative position before you even get started and it’s unlikely that you’ll keep with it for very long.

On the other hand, it’s also important to test that your chosen niche is profitable. Are people buying the type of product that you want to promote. Before you start to promote products and services as an affiliate, check out its conversion rates. This means how many potential consumers actually turn into buyers.

Use Reputable Affiliate Programs

As an affiliate marketer, you’re promoting another the products or services of another business. But, with regards to your prospective customers, they will think that they are buying from you. Therefore, make sure that you’re associating yourself with reputable affiliate companies that have integrity stand behind their products and support their affiliates.

Use The Right Kind Of Affiliate Links

Your objective is to get someone to click through on your affiliate link. This is the unique URL link that an affiliate program will use to keep track of your sales. There are all kinds of links you can use to get someone to visit a product’s sales page. These include embedded text, banners, search boxes and other less common methods.

If you want to actually sell products or find clients, you need to research all the choices and make the right decision for what you’re trying to do.

Have Your Own Website And Email List

You can start marketing affiliate without having your own website. You basically send prospects directly to a product owner’s sales page. Having said that, if that prospect doesn’t buy anything, you’ve lost them forever. On the other hand, if your prospects are associated to your website and have signed up with your email list, if they don’t buy a specific offer today, you can tempt them with something else in the future.

Creating your own affiliate marketing website isn’t as difficult as you might think, and there are several easy to use website platforms that can get you online quickly and efficiently.

Affiliate Marketing – Rollout Strategy Development

When new online marketers think about “Affiliate Marketing”, they think primarily in terms of marketing the products and services created by other businesses they have come across. You can make good online incomes doing this sort of thing. You find good products from good companies that you trust to pay you, and you promote those items far and wide using whatever strategies you can think of, websites, forums, social media sites, video adds, e-mails, etc. and you build an income stream for yourself online.

Exponential growth in your online business is difficult to achieve utilizing this strategy, but as you work, you can create a comfortable at-home income for yourself doing it.

Yet, there is a totally second side to this coin. Perhaps you as an entrepreneur should also be thinking about creating your own online assets and then finding entrepreneurs utilizing the above business model to sell your assets for you. As a small entrepreneur, you can succeed at this just as the bigger corporate entities can – you just need a focus, a niche, a strategy, some drive and you need to work at bringing people closer to you that you can share a vision with and that you can then collaboratively, present your product or services portfolio to the world and you can all make money at it.

You won’t be able to initiate this sort of strategy immediately if you wish to sell your own products as you start to work for yourself as you have no products of your own to promote and sell. You first need to build these and then roll them out after they have been created.

But you can start almost immediately looking for affiliates to help sell your services if you are wanting to trade your time for money directly. Let people know what your service chargeout rate is and what percentage of this rate they can get if they promote you to others. This is how professional consulting and freelancing service models have worked for years. The only downside to this is that you are still trading time for money. You only get paid when you physically work to create something for someone else and the time you take at doing this takes away from time you could be using to build your own passive income business; one where you do not directly have to trade your time for an income. You don’t get to wake up in the morning, grab a cup of coffee, go to your computer and see how much money you have made since the last time you logged on.

So now let’s look at affiliate marketing from a product provision perspective where you can actually earn a passive income from products you create. If you have budget, product creation skills (such as programming, web and database development skills for example) coupled with good product ideas and possibly investors at hand, you can build and sell physical products that have taken time and money to create and then you can go after the affiliate world to help sell it. But this usually takes a considerable amount of time and money.

What if you have neither? You want to create something you can sell and get others to sell for you but you don’t have any product development teams at hand or budget, etc. You are a “one-person-band” creating online and wanting to make a good and growing passive income. The logical fallout to what you can achieve is to create “Knowledgeware” products of some sort that people will purchase and affiliates will want to market for you.

If all you want to do is create the product and then have others sell it for you without you directly having to support your product, work with and directly grow your own affiliate base, then you are looking at doing things like:

  • Writing E-Books and self-published paperbound books on sites like Amazon, Create Space and Ingram Spark.
  • Creating online training courses and publishing them on sites like Udemy, SkillShare, etc. where the sites themselves and the site’s affiliate members sell your created Knowledgeware products for you.
  • Etc.

This can make you an income and even a growing income over time but your trade-off here is that you are giving away the greater parts of each sale to those hosting/marketing websites and the affiliates that they work with. Your net take-home revenue is much lower than the full retail value of the product on each sale – yet your benefit is that you have very little work to do to market your product as they are taking care of that for you. Create enough products and a decent passive, monthly revenue stream can be generated.

This brings us to the final business model for selling your products online. One where you choose to be in complete control of your product and marketing it, bringing in your own affiliates. Now you can keep most of the money for your products yourself except what you choose to give away to your own affiliates which will increase your per product profit margins. This model has the potential for the most exponential revenue growth for your business but it will take the most work to create and manage, at least in the first year or two.

You will find there are several things you will need to build out to be successful under this model. The list below may seem daunting to you, and I have by no means listed everything you will find you need to do, but if you want to attain the real growth in your business and the higher levels of incomes that are possible, all the tasks I include below are things you will need to work on. Here is my list:

  • Create products that trend well and sell well – probably of a “Knowledgeware” variety sort and hopefully, easily downloadable from the Internet or easily distributable to your target markets.
  • A website to showcase and sell your created products.
  • Information on each of your products consumers can use to make decisions with.
  • Product promotional e-mails and advertising/promotional videos.
  • An affiliate signup process and revenue sharing model – and this should be automated.
  • Affiliate training documentation and videos.
  • Tools you create to help your affiliates sell your products such as: logos, banner and other adds, advertising copy, trackable hyperlink codes for each affiliate so as they sell, they will automatically get tracked in your system and can get paid. This needs to be fully automated.
  • Auto-responder set up informational e-mails geared to supporting your affiliates.
  • Methods to facilitate easy communication with your affiliates when they have questions or run into issues.
  • Programs put in place that enable additional incomes or bonuses for your affiliates if they bring in even more affiliates to your business.
